Into the FunhouseI don't think straight Because I always found the crooked house at Southend fun. Those twisted walls, that warped staircase. The horrible smell of cheap plastic. Enraptured by that dizzying sensation of imbalance overwhelmed. I've loved staggering out of that distorted Hell house, Musty with its cobwebbed puppets behind plexiglass, And into the instant sunshine. It hits you like an articulated lorry that's skidded on a teensy oil slick. And for that once second, you're illuminated. You're pure again, five years old, high on life. You smile with your eyes again, for the fInto the Funhouse

Another ConversationI apologise for the stilted conversation on my part, but I've been busy and you aren't really that important, not in the grand scheme of things at any rate. Now, don't be hypocritical; I know that I'm just the hangnail on the end of a broken arm to you too. I hate that about you, the way you sell me on the idea that I'm your heroin, you can't live without me and blah blah blah, and yet every time I dial your number you're out without me. You force me to endure your patronising, badly-recorded message, which worms its way into my ear drum and laughs at my presumption.Another Conversation

Every single note of this song makes things materialise within my mind. I always thought that "swallowing sadness" was a crappy metaphor, or at least some kind of weird euphemism. It turns out that a description doesn't need flowery embellishments to be true. That's thrown me for a loop, I can tell you. God, how is this even possible? I thought I'd cauterised my heart vessels, left them out at sea. Obviously the iron wasn't hot enough. The tides brought my soul back intact. I don't know wThis Moment

On the WayI've slept nights with the light on The shadows all dispersed. And I've slept well, just for once Without having to feel cursedOn the Way
I've slept with my head pressed against a cool window pane, Staring through closed eyelids at a static world of grey blurs, Slightly out of focus behind the raindrops which smear the glass.
I've dreamed the best amongst the vibrating of the engine, Which buffets my forehead against the shallow transparency.
A buzzing drill, throbbing its way into my skull. Beating a permanent tattoo behind my eyes.
I rest my legs against the heate
